The Rega Planar 8 is the second Rega turntable build by utilizing their ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core (a material produced for the aerospace business). The insertion of Tancast material between two layers of HPL (high strain overlay). HPL is astoundingly slender and incredibly rigid. Subsequently, this Rega Planar 8 is 30% lighter than the first RP8, which was itself a skeletal plan.
